Osteoporosis in Ayurveda is called bone metal decay. Bone metal forms our structure. Weakness is due to nutritional deficiency. Weakness of digestion is also a reason.

Some special things that make and maintain bones

There are 3 doshas in the body : Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Bone tuberculosis is caused by vata dosha. Wherever Vata dosha increases in the body, that organ dries up. Due to vata in the bones, they slowly start to become hollow and brittle. When the bone metal forming and nurturing bones is weak, full nutrition is not available. The important thing is good digestion or metabolism. If it is not good then calcium and good nutritious food also do not help.

Cause of illness

According to Ayurveda, there are two reasons for this , these are treated with care in mind.

1- Vata dosha blocks the nutritional pathways or channels and prevents nutrients from reaching the bones, weakening the bones and causing them to wither.   

2- Slow or weak of bone metal fire

There are different types of fire in the body, which have different functions. Agni, which converts food into nutrients for bones, is called bone metal fire. This disease is caused by the weakening of this fire.

Vata dosha is balanced by various actions of purification and panchakarma so that the block channels open and the dirt is removed.

In addition to chemical medicines like Asparagus, Giloy, Ashwagandha, Lakshadi Guggul, etc, many types of metal nutritious herbs are also used to cure fire .

From  the perspective of Ayurveda in  catering  

Milk, curd, cheese, buttermilk, etc, should be used for milk products. Saunth powder, sesame, soaked fenugreek or mixture of all three of Saunth , fenugreek and turmeric. Mix all three things and keep it. Bones are strengthened by taking one teaspoon mixed with warm water, milk or honey in the morning and evening. Use liquorice and bala. 

Eat dates, walnuts, raisins and soaked almonds. Since it is a rheumatic disease, the body should get lubrication. 

Use appropriate amount of sesame oil and good pure ghee. Avoid eating things that are dry and dry.

Flour, sweets, heavy food and cold things increase vata, avoid them. Do not drink cold water and cold food.

Exercise daily. This is the most effective way to avoid osteoporosis. Sit in the sun for 20 to 25 minutes daily . Be sure to include this habit in the routine. Quit alcohol, cigarettes and tobacco, because of the corona, the elderly avoid going out. In such a situation, they should also remain active in the house.
